1 killed, 3 hurt as second suicide attack hits Afghan capital Kabul

KABUL—A suicide bombing rocked the Arzan Qimat locality in the 12th district in the eastern edge of Kabul city on Wednesday, killing the attacker and injuring three others, local media reported.

A militant strapped an explosive device on his body and detonated himself next to a building of the National Directorate for Security (NDS), or the country’s intelligence agency at about 1 p.m. local time (0830 GMT), killing himself and injuring three others.

This is the second suicide attack in the Afghan capital in a single day on Wednesday. The previous suicide bombing which occurred at the 6th Police District at the western edge of the city 12:35 p.m. local time (0805 GMT) have inflicted casualties, according to eye witnesses.

Officials, however, have yet to comment on the nature of the attacks and possible casualties.

Taliban militants have reportedly claimed responsibility for the twin attacks.
