LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – A man has been sentenced to 15 months in jail for a destructive drive-thru at a southern Alberta Tim Hortons.
Jake Krahn has also been ordered to pay restitution for ramming a stolen oilfield truck into his own pickup which then crashed through the restaurant in Taber two years ago.
No one was hurt, but the restaurant was closed for several months for repairs.
Krahn, who is 31, was found guilty on five charges that included possession of stolen property, impaired driving and public mischief.
Court heard he stole an oilfield vacuum truck and drove it into the back of his own vehicle which his brother had just parked outside the coffee shop.
Justice Earl Wilson also banned Krahn from driving for 2 1/2 years after his release.
