MMDA advises motorists of heavy traffic in EDSA southbound

MANILA—The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists that heavy traffic will still be experienced along EDSA southbound due to the ongoing Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) drainage rehabilitation along Cabrera Street in Pasay City.

In its advisory, the MMDA stated that the affected area is EDSA southbound from Magallanes in Makati City, with only one lane passable to vehicles until today.

MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos said the DPWH contractor was able to conduct excavation without coordination with the agency.

“We called the attention already yesterday of DPWH National Capital Region and suspended their work. Unfortunately, the contractor did not finish for it to be opened today. We will just cover the excavated area,” Orbos said.

Heavy traffic in EDSA southbound was experienced yesterday because of the DPWH rehabilitation work with the tail-end of the traffic reaching as far as Trinoma mall in Quezon City.
