PNP holds mass wedding on Valentine’s Day
MANILA –The Philippine National Police (PNP) held a mass wedding coinciding with the celebration of Valentine’s Day.
The mass wedding dubbed as “Kasalang Bayan” also coincided with the celebration of the PNP’s 26th Founding Anniversary.
PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa stood as the principal sponsor for the 21 couples who took the sacrament of marriage at the St. Joseph Chapel in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Tuesday.
Rev. Fr. Senior Supt. Eligo Mativo, PNP chaplain, and Rev. Fr. Jose Borja officiated the concelebrated mass for the sacrament of marriage to 21 couples consisting of PNP officers and non-uniformed personnel (NUP) with their respective partners in life during the traditional “Kasalang Bayan” of the PNP.
In his homily, Mativo said that love, which brings in marriage, serves as an inspiration to the policemen to strive even better in delivering public service.
Police Inspector Ariel Gupana, who was the highest ranking officer among the newly-wedded couples, had exchanged “wedding vows” in front of the altar with his bride Pinky Gupana.
Dela Rosa, together with the PNP command group, served as the principal sponsors during the conduct of the simple mass wedding.
The PNP chief was accompanied by his wife Nancy Dela Rosa when he stood as a principal sponsor for the newly-wedded police couples.
