Lions Clubs International Marks Its 2017 Centennial Year
Lions Clubs International (LCI) will commemorate its 100th foundation this year, 2017. LCI, formed in 1917, is the largest service club organization in the world with 1.4 million members. The prestigious and prominent international service organization performs valuable service in 210 countries and geographic areas around the globe. Lions are friends, family and neighbours who share a core belief: “Community is what we make it”.
The Toronto Golden Vision (TGV) Lions Club is one of the active clubs in District A711 and in LCI since it was founded in 1994. TGV Lions Club’s current president is Randy Bucao. He is aptly supported and assisted by other active Service members and volunteers, namely: Paulino Sollano (Secretary/Past President), Marilyn Allnigue-Velasco (Treasurer), Greg Velasco (Previous President), Perfecto Facunla (Membership), Mario Cabarios (Charter President ), Abelardo Diestro Jr., Exequil Rabanillo, Tony A.San Juan, Julita Facunla, and Elva Cabarios.
Lionism knows no bounds of race and creed. Its motto is: “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion”. The TGV Lions Club meets every 1st Sunday of the month at 2:00 PM at the Agincourt Lions Community Centre in Scarborough, Toronto.
One of TGV Lions Club’s events this year is a fund-raising project to benefit its targeted recipients. The Toronto Golden Vision Lions Club will hold its Mini Concert Fundraiser on March 31, 2017, Friday, 6:30 PM at ‘Prestige by Night’, 4544 Dufferin Street, North York, Toronto. The entertainment event will feature prominent Filipino – Canadian musical artists and dance professionals in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Volunteer Performer Singers are: Alvin Bascon, Cresny Lorenzo-Smith, Fienne Mendoza, Celine Grey, Keeana Cerezo, John Alix, Britney Waito, Lucky Lucas, Samantha Viloria; and special Dance performances by Liezel Malicay, Miss Caregiver 2016 & Rosalie Francisco of Dance to the Rhythm.
Entrance ticket is only for $10 as your simple donation and support for this Fund Raising project. An optional Light Meal can be purchased or reserved in advance for an extra $10 also. Cash bar for Pop, Soda or other drinks. Prestige by Night Restaurant is open for other orders and will be also in full service during the concert.

Proceeds will be donated locally to ‘Covenant House – Toronto’, which helps and open their doors for Homeless Youth and internationally, to ‘Lions Club International Foundation’ whose charitable work is dedicated to helping Humanitarian Globally.
