Cedric Lee and Simeon Raz, two of the accused in the mauling of TV host-actor Vhong Navarro were arrested in Oras, Samar, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said Saturday.
In an interview on dzBB radio, De Lima said: “Kumpirmado po. Binalita sa akin ni (NBI) Director (Virgilio) Mendez at Deputy Director (Rafael) Ragos… naaresto ng NBI authorities.”

(It’s confirmed. It was reported to me by NBI) Director (Virgilio) Mendez and Deputy Director (Rafael) Ragos…they were arrested by NBI authorities.)

In a separate interview with GMA News, De Lima said that the arrest happened at around 11:15 a.m.
On Friday night, April 25, the two attempted to flee from authorities, reports added. But when they realized that they were already cornered, they just decided to surrender.

As per the instruction of De Lima, the authorities will bring the two accused to Manila straight away.

“My instruction was as soon as possible, so maybe today or tomorrow, or when they will be able to arrange their transportation,” she said.

The authorities continue their search for the other suspects, including model Deniece Cornejo.
