MANILA—The Department of Justice (DOJ) is ready for the possibility that the criminal cases against the Philippine National Police (PNP) generals named by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte who are allegedly involved in illegal drugs will be filed before them.

According to some DOJ officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, they would not want to be identified because of the possibility that the cases to be filed against the said PNP generals will be assigned to them.

They noted that the cases against government officials who are being accused of corruption are frequently filed before the DOJ.
