Suspected drug lord surrenders at NBI
MANILA—One of the alleged drug lords from the Visayas is now in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
According to the NBI, Alvaro Alvaro alias “Barok” has surrendered to the NBI-Bohol for fear of his life.
Alvaro was flown on Tuesday from Bohol to the NBI-Cebu where the Central Visayas Office of NBI is located, and from Cebu, he was flown to the NBI Head Office in Manila.
NBI Anti-Illegal Drugs Division Chief Joel Tuvera on Wednesday confirmed that Alvaro arrived at the NBI-Manila on Tuesday night.
However, Tuvera said, Alvaro will be flown back to NBI-Cebu on Wednesday.
Tuvera added that Alvaro was placed under investigation at the NBI Head Office.
It can be recalled that Alvaro was involved in a shooting incident with the policemen in Las Pinas City last Friday.
He was supposed to be arrested due to the pending case against him, but managed to escape after shooting it out with the policemen.
