Watch: Kaye Abad, Jake Castillo now engaged
MANILA – It’s official! Kapamilya actor Paul Jake Castillo already popped the question to girlfriend Kaye Abad who gave a resounding yes.
The celebrity couple started as friends before becoming romantically linked in May 2014. They have then been engaged for marriage after Abad’s 34th birthday-party-turned-engagement-party yesterday night at Bellevue Hotel in Alabang.
While the actress was enjoying the night with her family and friends, Castillo surprised her by kneeling in front of her and holding out the engagement ring as he asked her hand for marriage.
“We started off as friends, tapos naging partner in crime kita, best friend, tapos hindi mo talaga napigilan, ginawa mo akong boyfriend. Now, I’d like to seal it. Will you marry me?” he asked while still on his knees.

With tears streaming down her face, Abad nodded, smiled and muttered a “yes.” The two then shared an embrace.

Soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Castillo’s friends in the entertainment industry have then congratulated them, including siblings John and Camille Prats who shared the good news in social media.
“Napakasaya ko natupad na hinihintay mo… Engaged ka na Abaaaaad… Sure ako na magiging masaya kayo… Ikakasal ka sa bestfriend mo… Mahal namin kayo… May God bless the 2 of you. Sisiguraduhin ko na aattend ako sa wedding niyo, kung hindi ka magkuripot sa headcount. Hahaha,” John Prats said, adding a photo of the couple.
