Paolo Ballesteros suspended from ‘Eat Bulaga’?

MANILA – With mainstay host Paolo Ballesteros’ nonappearance in the recent airings of daily noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” viewers started to speculate that a ‘disciplinary action’ may have been imposed on the host due to a series of recent rants on his Facebook account.

In his Facebook posts, Ballesteros was seemingly upset over a production staff who did not assist him and the other main hosts during a supposed stint at the Ad Summit Pilipinas 2016 held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone last week.

“UHM EXCUSE ME MGA MAGAGALING NA PRODUCTION, ANDITO NA HO ANG MGA MAIN HOSTS NINYO SA HOTEL. WALA MAN LANG TAO DITO NA MAGAASIKASO SAMEN AT KAME PA MISMONG MGA MAIN HOSTS ANG MAGAAYOS NG KWARTO NAMEN? HINIHINGAN PA KAMI NG ID NG HOTEL,” the first of the series of statuses read, a screenshot of a message he sent to a certain Liza Marcelo Lazatin.

(Uhm, excuse me production people, your main hosts are already here in the hotel. There’s no one here to assist us and we, the main hosts, are the ones to arrange our rooms? The hotel personnel are asking for our IDs.

“Akalain mo yon??? Isang oras at kalahati na kame nakahiga sa room namen? Hanggang ngayon wala pa reng nagsasabe samen kung anong oras at anong mga kaganapan??? Nakapagrant nako nyan dito sa fb ha! Waw…,” Ballesteros continued with another post.

(Can you believe it? We have been lying in our room for an hour and a half? Until now, still no one’s informing us what time [the program will start] and what will happen there? I have been able to rant here on Facebook already. Wow…)

“E total hanggang ngayon wala pa ring nagsasabe sa amen kung anong magaganap, pati mga makeup artist namen at wardrobe andito na sa room lahat kame CLUELESS, at wala atang may alam sa inyo kung ano ang magaganap, oorder nako ng redhorse at iinom nalang ako sa kwarto ko ok. Wag nyo kong IISTORBOHIN. Bow. Shot na,” he concluded after hours with still no response from the production staff.

(After all, until now, there’s still no one who’s briefing us on what’s going to happen in the program, even our make-up artists and wardrobe stylists are here in the room; all of us are clueless and it seems like no one among you knows the event, I’ll order Red Horse beer and  drink in my room, okay? Do not disturb me. Bow. Shot now.)

Adding more to the speculations, Ballesteros was not spotted at the Ad Summit while his co-hosts Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola were seen in the event.

As of posting, both Eat Bulaga producer TAPE Inc. and the 33-year-old host remained mum on the issue.
