MANILA – It is the responsibility of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to ensure that everything is in place come election day, a Palace official has said.

told reporters in Malacañang on Friday.

Coloma was reacting to reports that Smartmatic needs two months to adjust their machines to comply with the voter’s receipt approved by the Supreme Court.

He said that according to the law, election day is set on the second Monday of the month of May and any change of date would require a change in the law.
