TORONTO – Canadian designer Jessica Jensen is closing up shop on her namesake collection.

In an email addressed to customers on Tuesday, Jensen announced she would no longer be producing handbags and accessories for the Jessica Jensen Collection, and would stop selling online on March 5.

She expressed gratefulness to her customers and team and “everyone who inspired me, motivated me, and believed in me while I manifested my dreams.”

Jensen grew up in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula and moved to Toronto in 1997 to train in fashion at Ryerson University.

She gained more than a decade of experience marketing and designing licensed and private label accessories for more than 25 international brands, including Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Roots and Hudson’s Bay Co.

Jensen launched her namesake handbag label for spring-summer 2008.

In 2010, her designs were showcased on the Toronto Fashion Week runway alongside womenswear designer Alexander Berardi.

In 2012, she teamed with The Shopping Channel on a more accessibly-priced collection of her luxury leather goods.

Jensen also cultivated a celebrity following with her sleek bags seen in the hands of stars like Oscar winner Helen Mirren, “Scream Queens” star Abigail Breslin, Canadian director Ruba Nadda and award-winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan.

“Together, we made over 100,000 bags,” Jenson said in her statement.

“I thank you for sharing in this journey with me and look forward to my next chapter.
