‘Hatred of the government’ urged Duterte for presidential bid
MANILA – Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said in his opening campaign that his decision of running in the presidential race was due to his hatred of the government.
Being disappointed by the Senate Electoral Tribunal’s junking of certificate of candidacy and filing disqualification case against presidential aspirant Sen. Grace Poe, and being mad at the government, Duterte said on November 2015 that his presidential bid is on the presidential table.
His expressed his anger on the government and oppressing of the Filipinos by fellow FIlipinos through cursing during the course of his speech.
Duterte also said that if he wins the presidential race, he will be sworn in Malacañang and not in Luneta to avoid traffic.
In his campaign rally, the tough-talking mayor pointed out the road closures as one of the inconveniences brought by the incumbent administration, and explained that he is cursing because of his anger seeing his citizens suffer from the administration.
Duterte’s campaign was held in Tondo, Manila with his vice presidential running matee Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, and was attended by 3,000 supporters of “Tapat at Malasakit” campaign.
