Vancouver, BC – The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation kicks off year 2014 with its first major annual fundraising event, 2014 Bridge to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Gala, on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver. Doug Chiu, Jonathan Lai and Linda Wong, Co-Chairs of the Gala, officially announced the Foundation’s plan to raise $500,000 from the event in support of essential S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs and services that are in lack of sufficient government funding. Programs such as the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth Leadership Millennium Program and the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multicultural Early Childhood Development Program are prime examples of beneficiaries of our fundraising efforts.

“For 40 years, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. strives to serve the unmet needs of the Metro Vancouver communities,” said Sing Lim Yeo, Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation.  “It is the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation’s mission to assist financially in realization of this vision through our three major fundraising events, including Bridge to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Gala, S.U.C.C.ES.S. Walk with the Dragon and the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation Charity Golf Tournament, and other innovative opportunities.”

The 2014 Gala festivities include a private reception, silent and live auction, and an exclusive dinner.  For the 18th consecutive year Air Canada returns as the Official Airline Sponsor.

For entertainment, Hong Kong’s chanteuse extraordinaire Maria Cordero is poised to take center stage and dazzle the 800 plus dinner guests.

Maria Cordero, well-known singer, actress and television hostess, began her professional singing career in 1985 with her powerful, versatile and original vocal style. In 1988, the song “Beam of Friendship”, from Maria’s debut album, won gold in Hong Kong’s prestigious “Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards”.  In October 2013, Maria along with Frances Yip and Elisa Chan gave sold out performances in the “Three Divas Concert” at the Hong Kong Coliseum.

Gala Tickets are $238, $338, $538 or $800 per person. For ticket reservations or information, please call 604-408-7228 or visitwww.successfoundation.ca.

As a companion fundraising activity to the Gala, the annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Raffle sale is well underway.  “Tickets are $2 each or $10 for a book of five.  Prizes include airplane tickets plus cash, Las Vegas tour package, hotel suite, and the much sought after iPad Air,” added Jason Lam, Chair of 2014 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Raffle Committee. A total of 10 winning numbers will be drawn live at the Gala on March 8th.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation, incorporated in December 2001, is a charitable foundation responsible for raising funds for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and its affiliated organizations to support their mandates for the betterment of the community. For more details, please visit: www.successfoundation.ca.
