Roxas: There’s time to find running mate

MANILA – Presidential standard-bearer of the Liberal Party Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said that there is still enough time for him to select and name a running mate.

He said he still has plenty of time given that the filing of candidacy certificates will end on Oct. 12.

“But we will arrive there and when we do, ours will be a strong ticket,” said Roxas. “I am very confident that the ‘straight path’ will have a very strong ticket,” he added.

When asked if he is still considering Sen. Grace Poe to be his running mate, Roxas refused to comment, but said that he will select someone who supports the “tuwid na daan.”

“You know the straight path is more than just any person, it’s more than me, it’s more than President Aquino, it is about each and every Filipino. What we are fighting for in the straight path is the dream of every parent, every Filipino to live with dignity, comfort and opportunity for their children. So in choosing our running mate, one of the most important qualities is the belief to the bones on the straight path and will tread the straight path,” said Roxas.
