AP source: Blue Jays trade shortstop Jose Reyes to Rockies for Troy Tulowitzki
DENVER – The Toronto Blue Jays have traded shortstop Jose Reyes to the Colorado Rockies for fellow shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, an Associated Press source confirmed late Monday.
In 69 games this year, Reyes has four home runs and 34 RBI’s to go along with a .
285 average. He was acquired by Toronto in 2012 blockbuster trade with the Miami Marlins.
Tulowitzki is batting .300 with 12 home runs and 53 runs-batted in this season with Colorado.
The 30-year-old has spent his entire 10-year MLB career with the Rockies and is a five-time all-star.
Tulowitzki is in the midst of a six-year, 8 million contract that runs through 2020.
Colorado drafted Tulowitzki seventh overall in the 2005 MLB draft.
The trade reportedly involves minor leagues going from Toronto to the Rockies, although neither team had confirmed the trade by early Tuesday.
