MANILA — Boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao is yet to decided if he would run for senator in the 2016 elections.

In an interview with the Philippine Star, Pacquiao said he is still undecided on running for a higher post.

“Frankly from scale 1 to 100, it’s still 50-50 in my chances to run for senator in 2016 although I must admit I have plans… but it will all depend on the plans and wishes of our creator for me,”Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao is also being eyed to join the ruling Liberal Party (LP) in case he decides to run.

“Congressman Manny and I are talking. We will see if we would be able to convince him to be part of “Daang Matuwid”,” Deputy Minority Leader and YACAP Party – list Rep. Carol Lopez said.

Lopez is a vocal supporter of LP’s presumptive standard bearer, Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel ‘Mar’ Roxas II.

Pacquiao was also earlier reported to have joined the launching of the opposition party, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) headed by Vice President Jejomar C. Binay.

Binay also said that he is planning to tap the Sarangani representative to be part of UNA.
