Nadine Lustre dismisses James, Julia rumored romance

MANILA – Nadine Lustre simply downplayed the speculations that her onscreen partner James Reid has been dating costar Julia Barretto as photos of the two together went viral online.

Nadine acknowledged the rumors but said that she has yet to hear it from James.

She believed, however, that should the romance be true, James would have told her first.

“Itong JaDine po, alam ko namang very important to him din and I don’t think he will do stuff that will ruin him, that will make him look bad sa ibang tao. So kung meron man pong ganu’n, he would tell me, sasabihin niya po sa akin,” she said in an interview with Pang-Masa.

(I know JaDine’s also very important to him and I don’t think he will do stuff that will ruin him, that will make him look bad. So if ever there really is something like that, he would tell me, he would tell me.)

“Parang, loveteam is a partnership. Ito parang binibigyan namin ng importance, tapos iniingatan namin… Siyempre, ayaw din niyang masira ‘yun dahil before nga po, pareho naming na-experience ‘yung nandiyan na ‘yung career, paakyat na, sabay-bagsak,” she added.

(It’s like, loveteam is a partnership. It’s like, we are giving it importance and we are protecting it… Of course, he also doesn’t want it gone because like before, we both experienced having our careers in front of us, then suddenly, we let it slip away.)

Nadine also opted to protect James from bashers instead of making any assumptions on the issue as she valued him and their loveteam.

“I’m here nga po, para maprotektahan ko rin siya, para matulungan ko rin siya… Hindi naman siya iba. ‘Yung nangyari sa aming dalawa, isa po ito sa pinaka­importanteng nangyari sa buhay ko, ito ngang love­team namin. Kaya po ako nandito, para tulungan ko rin siya,” she said.

(I’m here to protect him, for me to be able to help him. He’s no stranger. What happened between us, it’s one of the most important things that happened in my life, our loveteam. That’s why I’m here, so that I could help him.)

“And this is a second chance po, eh. So, parang ayaw din naming masira, ayaw naming mawala,” she added.

Despite deciding to stay positive amid the rumors, Nadine admitted that she was still affected with it.

“Apektado po ako dahil ka-trabaho ko po si James and siyempre hindi po maganda na siya ang tinitira ng bashers. Aminado naman po kami na we are not together, pero sana po hindi maapektuhan ang pagta-trabaho namin sa isa’t-isa,” she said.

(I’m affected because I’m working with James and of course it’s not good that people are bashing him.

We do admit that we are not together but we hope that our work doesn’t get affected.
