MANILA — Contrary to Senator Trillanes’ statement on Sunday, the Bureau of Immigration said the two top aides of Vice President Jejomar Binay are still in the country.

Binay’s finance officer Gerardo Limlingan Jr.

and his secretary Eduviges Baloloy allegedly vanished after being summoned to appear in a Senate inquiry on the corruption charges raised against Binay.

In a radio interview, Trillanes said that an “insider” told him that the two aides are already out of the country and were being hunted by the International Police.

Immigration Commissioner Siegfred Mison on Monday told reporters that according to their records, the aides have not left the country.

He added that he will be sending Trillanes a copy of the said report, as directed by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.

Limlingan last traveled abroad 12 years ago, according to Immigration records, while Baloloy last traveled on Sept. 6, 2014.

The two aides are now on the lookout bulletin though there is still no hold-departure order issued against them.
