Capt. Patrick A. Martinez, the army’s spokesperson, said that the “Gift2Life Incorporated,” through the Philippine Army Officer Ladies Club, provided the resource speakers of the seminar.

He said that the seminar focused on fostering awareness in preventing breast cancer, now considered as one of the world’s deadliest diseases.

Martinez said that the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees of the army’s 4ID attended breast cancer seminar held at the Division’s Clubhouse at Camp Evangelista in this city.

One of the resource speakers, Dr. Cristina L. Santos, said that one percent out of 14,000 patients diagnosed with breast cancer in the Philippines in 2014 were males.

“It is very important that everyone must be aware of the disease,” Santos said.
