Philippine National Police spokesperson Allen Rae Co has earned his first star after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved his promotion to Police Brigadier General, along with five other senior police officials.

Co, who previously held the rank of police colonel, was included in the latest batch of promotions endorsed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

The other newly promoted brigadier generals are Ranie P. Hachuela, Amante B. Daro, Ranser A. Evasco, Ledon D. Monte and Reynaldo D. Pasiwen.

The six officers formally assumed their new ranks during a donning of ranks and oath-taking ceremony at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Friday, November 6. PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. led the ceremony.

Co currently heads the PNP Public Information Office, where he serves as the organization’s spokesperson. He was appointed to the position in May 2026, succeeding Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño, who was transferred to Police Regional Office 6.

A member of the Philippine National Police Academy’s Kapanalig Class of 1997, Co previously served as director of the Baguio City Police Office and held a deputy regional director post in Cagayan Valley.

Meanwhile, 11 police lieutenant colonels were also promoted to the rank of police colonel during the same round of promotions.

The promotions form part of the latest personnel advancement within the police organization, recognizing officers taking on higher ranks and responsibilities.
