A 33-year-old laundry worker was found dead in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, after she was allegedly attacked by two co-workers following a dispute over a ₱1,000 loan, according to reports published Wednesday, October 14.
The victim’s body was discovered inside a sack near a creek in Hacienda Santa Catalina, Barangay Dos Hermanas, on Tuesday evening, October 13. Two farm workers reportedly alerted authorities after noticing a foul smell coming from the area.
Investigators later focused on two men who worked at the same farm as the victim. Reports said the suspects allegedly admitted to attacking the woman after she refused to lend them money.
Police said the victim had been missing since October 8, according to information provided by her live-in partner.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing and the alleged sexual assault. Charges are being prepared against the suspects, subject to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.
