Vancouver PCG launches 2027 Winter Escapade for Filipino-Canadians

VANCOUVER, Canada – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver has launched Winter Escapade 2027: Very Important Pinoy Tour Edition, a homecoming program bringing together tourism initiatives for the Filipino diaspora in Canada and the United States.

Scheduled for February 7 to 17, 2027, the program combines Canada’s Winter Escapade and the United States’ Very Important Pinoy Tour into one Philippine travel experience.

The Vancouver PCG hosted an online launch on Sept. 16 in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Tourism Promotions Board, Rajah Tours, Philippine Airlines and Philippine foreign service posts across Canada and the United States.

Consul Andre Peter C. Estanislao, speaking on behalf of Consul General Dr. Gina A. Jamoralin, said the program is intended to reconnect Filipinos across North America with the Philippines.

“Winter Escapade 2027 is more than just a tour—it is a celebration of our shared identity and a bridge connecting the Filipino diaspora across North America to the heart of our motherland,” Estanislao said.

He added that combining the Canadian and U.S. programs would allow participants to rediscover Philippine culture, hospitality and heritage while contributing to local tourism communities.

What the tour includes

The itinerary is divided into three main portions.

The first covers Manila and surrounding areas, including an official welcome reception, heritage tours and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument.

Participants will then take part in regional excursions highlighting local culture, ecotourism and culinary traditions.

For the final leg, travelers can choose between an Iloilo-Bacolod heritage and gastronomy route or El Nido, Palawan.

During the online launch, Rajah Tours President and CEO Jose C. “Jojo” Clemente III presented the itinerary, schedule, package rates, meals, guided tours and transfer arrangements.

Philippine Airlines Canada Country Manager Allan Coo also presented special discounted airfares available to registered Winter Escapade participants traveling from Canada.

Registration underway

A separate Vancouver PCG announcement lists October 15, 2026 as the tour registration deadline and November 15 as the deadline for full payment.

Philippine Airlines’ special-fare ticketing deadline is Sept. 30, according to the same Consulate announcement.

The Winter Escapade program is intended to encourage overseas Filipinos and other participants to reconnect with the Philippines through its culture, heritage, food and tourism destinations.

The 2027 edition will run from February 7 to 17.
