PNP reshuffles seven senior officials in latest leadership revamp

The Philippine National Police is shaking up its senior leadership, with seven officials reassigned in a reshuffle that includes new directors for two major police districts in Metro Manila.

Eastern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. will head the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office, while Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco will take charge of the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies.

Their replacements will be Brig. Gen. Roman Arugay as EPD director and Brig. Gen. Rodel Pastor as SPD director.

The reshuffle also affects the national police’s human rights and regional commands. Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, currently director of Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas, will lead the PNP Human Rights Affairs Office.

Capoy will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, who is set to be succeeded as director of the PRO-Negros Island Region by Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales.

The new assignments take effect September 7.

The changes cover offices responsible for police districts, firearms regulation, private security oversight, regional policing and human rights, marking a broad realignment of senior PNP leadership.
