MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DOE) strongly refuted the circulating claims online that there is an “energy lockdown” amid the State of National Energy Emergency declared by the president.
“Fake news ito. Walang ganitong anunsyo mula sa DOE,” the agency said on Monday, adding that AI-generated videos are also observed to be disseminating the false claim.
DOE advised the public to be critical of the content circulating on the internet and to verify the information first before sharing it with others.
