MANILA, Philippines — The House Committee on Justice has ordered Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla to appear before the panel on April 14 and to submit the previously subpoenaed Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of Vice President Sara Duterte in three separate years, as part of her ongoing impeachment proceeding.
The justice panel expects Remulla to give his testimony during Duterte’s second impeachment clarificatory hearing in relation to the requested SALNs dated from 2007 to 2013, 2016 to 2022, and 2022 to 2025.
According to the subpoena issued to Remulla, he will have the right to be accompanied by his own legal counsel during the proceedings. The counsel, however, will only be limited to an advisory role and will not be allowed to participate in the hearing.
Remulla told reporters today that his office will comply with the SALN subpoenas issued by the justice panel.
