MANILA — Actress Susan Roces and mother of Senator Grace Poe broke her silence for the first time about her daughter’s possible bid for presidency in next year’s election.

“My main concern as a mother is her happiness and her safety, and her health,” Roces told reporters on Monday.

She added that the she still cannot comment on whether Poe will run for President in the 2016 polls.

Despite this, the veteran actress said that the she continues to pray for “guidance” for her daughter,  “whatever the future holds for her.”

Roces made the statement to members of the press during the announcement of ABS-CBN’s TV remake of FPJ’s movie, “Ang Probinsyano.”

She also added that she felt overwhelmed by the number of Filipinos supporting her daughter to pursue running for a higher position in the government.

Bilang ina nakakatabang puso na ganun ang reaksyon nila. Sa isang banda, mahirap na trabaho yan. Hindi mo basta basta pinaplano yan,” she said.

(As a mother, their reaction is overwhelming. On the other hand, that’s a tough job. You don’t plan it just like that.)
