Kris on Herbert: ‘We were never lovers’

MANILA — Following reports of her past relationship with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, actress Kris Aquino clarified that they were “never lovers.”

During her late night talk show, “Aquino & Abunda Tonight,” Aquino cleared rumors that she and Bautista had a romantic relationship in the past.

“We were never lovers po, let me just clarify that. Nothing ever happened,” she told co-host Boy Abunda.

Despite rumors that she was romantically linked with Bautista, Aquino clarified that their supposed to be romantic relationship did not progress.

The two, meanwhile, confirmed on earlier reports that they will be working together in a movie for Star Cinema.

“Actually po, just to make it clear also, the story will be told to the eyes of our children. And obviously in this movie, ang anak ko would be Bimby (Kris’s son with basketball player James Yap). And ang daughter niya [Herbert] dito … he will have two daughters. One daughter would be played by Jana from ‘Dream Dad,’ so it’s really exciting.”

Aquino also earlier explained, amidst mixed reactions from netizens, why he accepted the project.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Aquino said that:

“It’s just a movie, but we are being given that rarest of opportunities to answer all our WHAT IFs—through the eyes and expressed by the words of the (Antoinette Jadaone),” she said. “The storyline is realistic, family centered, funny, yet still uplifting and inspiring.”

“Because I’m not the same Kris I was 15 months ago, and I think I’m a more mature, positive, and “live each day as it comes” version of me,” she added.
