MANILA – The Senate of the Philippines on Tuesday launched its redesigned and upgraded official website.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III, who led the unveiling ceremony, said the new platform was built to make information easier for citizens to access and understand.
“The website was redesigned with a cleaner, modern, and user-friendly interface to make information easier to find, access, and understand. It can now be accessed seamlessly across all devices. You can navigate Senate documents, bills, and resolutions with greater speed and clarity,” Sotto said.
He added that the upgraded platform now provides live broadcasts of plenary sessions and committee events, including the entire budget process, allowing the public to follow proceedings in real time.
“This is what freedom of information looks like in practice – giving citizens direct and convenient access to the work of their representatives,” he added.
Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said the modernization of the website underscores the institution’s commitment to openness and civic participation.
“By providing real-time information and interactive tools readily accessible to every Filipino, we are strengthening the bridge between the vital work conducted in this chamber and the citizens that we serve,” Bantug said.
Senate IT Team Lead Lou Galban presented the new website, which features a cleaner design, compatibility across all devices, and expanded sections on senators’ profiles, legislative achievements and institutional programs.
The platform also highlights public assistance services, including medical, social, and citizen support programs, improved search tools for laws and resolutions, and enhanced security and system performance for faster access.
