MANILA – International Series Head Rahul Singh and Tournament Director Pat Janssen made a courtesy call on Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio on Wednesday to discuss the Manila leg, scheduled from Oct. 23-26 at Sta. Elena Golf and Country Club.

Miguel Tabuena, already established as the country’s most successful Asian Tour professional, will compete against several LIV Golf stars, including major champions Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, and Louis Oosthuizen.

“We’re thrilled to finally bring the International Series to the Philippines and connect with the country’s passionate golf community. This event marks a significant step in growing the game across Southeast Asia,” Singh said.

Gregorio has expressed excitement about the prestigious event, stressing the PSC’s commitment to hosting world-class sporting events.

“We are proud to welcome some of the finest golfers in the world for the tournament, just a month after the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championships. This reinforces our advocacy for sports tourism and highlights the Philippines as a premier destination for international competition,” Gregorio said.

“We look forward to making history with LIV Golf and look ahead to a meaningful partnership that we hope will be a springboard for broader collaboration toward the growth of golf in the country,’’ he added.

Sanctioned by the Asian Tour and associated with LIV Golf, the International Series continues to expand its global footprint, with the Manila leg poised to deliver high-caliber action and elevate the country’s profile on the international golf stage.

Meanwhile, more than 20 local rising stars will compete in a 144-man international field at the Asian Development Tour (ADT) Players Championship, taking place from October 16 to 19 at the Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac City.

The winner will earn a coveted spot in the International Series Manila leg. If the winner is not from the Philippines, the highest-placed Filipino will also secure a place in the tournament, which is the sixth stop on The International Series 2025 schedule.

Five slots will also be awarded to the leading players on the Philippine Golf Tour Order of Merit, ensuring the nation’s most decorated golfers are represented in the field.
