To ensure every Albertan has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to the province’s growing economy, Alberta’s government is offering three post-secondary scholarships: the Persons Case Scholarship; the Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship; and the Women in Technical and Applied Arts Scholarship. Applications for the three scholarships are now officially open and will be accepted until Oct. 31, 2025.

“By removing barriers and opening doors through these scholarships, Alberta’s government is making education more accessible and affordable, helping more Albertans step into high-paying, purpose-driven careers.”

Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women

The Persons Case Scholarship, offered in Alberta for 46 years, helps students enter fields that advance gender equality. This scholarship honours the Famous Five and their legal fight for women’s rights, encouraging learners to build knowledge and careers in areas that continue to shape opportunities for women in Alberta.

The Women in STEM Scholarship, launched five years ago in the province, helps women pursue rewarding careers in Alberta’s thriving STEM industries. This scholarship fuels Alberta’s innovation economy by equipping more women for leadership roles in sectors driving growth and discovery.

The Women in Technical and Applied Arts Scholarship, announced last year, is the first provincially funded scholarship of its kind in Canada. This scholarship supports the development of Alberta-based talent among women pursuing careers in the technical arts, music production, film and television.

Each of these scholarships awards successful applicants $2,500 toward their post-secondary education.
