PBBM to GOCCs: Simplify processes, cut red tape

MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday challenged government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) to modernize services and eliminate bureaucratic delays, emphasizing that efficiency and transparency are as vital as fiscal contributions.
“My challenge to our GOCCs is to invest in modern technology, simplify our processes, and cut down on red tape so that every Filipino enjoys easy, fair, and dignified access to the services they deserve,” Marcos said in his keynote address at the 2025 GOCCs’ Day in Malacañang.
While lauding the PHP116.8 billion in dividends remitted as of September this year, Marcos warned that sustaining public confidence requires accountability.
“Public trust is our most valuable currency. Once lost, rebuilding it becomes far more difficult,” he said.
The President said that dividend collections must be directed toward long-term impact.
“These funds should promote genuine reforms that uplift the quality of life, reach the farmer, and leave a lasting contribution for the generations to come.”
Beyond revenue, Marcos said GOCCs must serve as “a beacon of integrity, excellence, and service” that Filipinos— at home and abroad —can take pride in.
