Gondek Proposes Nation-Leading Accountability Framework
CALGARY, AB, August 6, 2025 – Mayoral candidate Jyoti Gondek will unveil a bold plan to make Calgary the most transparent and accountable local government in the country in her second term.
“Calgarians deserve honesty, clarity, and real leadership — not empty gestures,” said Gondek. “This is what putting Calgarians first looks like.”
In her soon to be released policy platform, Gondek’s accountability package will include:

Sunshine list to include all City employees earning over a certain threshold

Public posting of all released FOIP requests

Proactive release of more city documents, including more open budget disclosures

Full disclosure of all contracts issued by City Administration, Mayoral and councillor offices
These measures will make Calgary a leader in Alberta and Canada when it comes to ethical and accountable government.
