WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump said the United States would impose a 10 percent tariff on all imports from countries belonging to the BRICS economic bloc.
“Well, if they are a member of BRICS, they’re going to have to pay 10 percent tariff just for that,” Trump said.
He described BRICS – composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and other expanding members – as a platform designed to hurt US.
“BRICS was set up to hurt us,” Trump claimed.
“In my opinion, it’s not a serious threat, but what they’re trying to do is destroy the dollar so that another country can become the global standard. We’re not going to lose the standard at any time,” he said. (TASS)
