PAL among 22 most dependable airlines in the world –US website
MANILA — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has been tagged by American finance website CBS MoneyWatch, a division of CBS News, as among the 22 most dependable airlines in the world.
In the article, “The 22 most dependable airlines in the world,” by Kim Peterson, he enumerated 22 carriers that stood out among others as to being the most “reliable.

Peterson noted that through travel site WanderBat, he came up with a list of airlines ranking each of them in three areas: On-time performance, low costs to check bags, average age of an airline fleet.
PAL made it to number 21 on the list for “reaping the benefits of a growing wave of tourism, both as more foreign visitors enter the country and as more Filipinos travel abroad.”
The writer credited the carrier for recently bringing back service between Manila and New York City after an 18-year break. In addition, PAL is also planning to expand elsewhere in North America.
He also took note of PAL’s fleet size, which is 51, the number of destinations it had, which over 40, on-time percentage, which is 53 percent, and average age of fleet which is 4.

The top 10 most dependable airlines meanwhile include Cathay Pacific; Saudi Arabia’s Saudia; British Airways; Air China; Africa’s Ethiopian Airlines; China Southern Airlines; Singapore Airlines; China Eastern; Dubai’s Emirates; and Qatar Airways, making the 10th to 1st spot, respectively. (PNA)
