MANILA – Criminal charges for physical injuries and grave threats have been filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against Davao City 1st Dist. Rep. Paolo Duterte.

In a sworn statement executed before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group dated April 26, Kristone John Patria alleged that a drunk Duterte threatened him with a knife and repeatedly headbutted him at a bar in Davao City on Feb. 23.

Patria, a Davao City resident, claimed that he fears for his life, prompting him to file the complaint.

Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon confirmed to reporters that the records of the case were forwarded Friday to the DOJ main office in Manila.
