MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed former Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) chief Vivencio “Vince” Dizon as the next head of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Malacañang announced Thursday.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed the latest appointment of Dizon, who will replace DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista beginning Feb. 21.

“Vivencio ‘Vince’ Bringas Dizon is going to be the next of the Department of Transportation, effective February 21, 2025,” Bersamin said in a statement.

“He is already authorized by the Office of the President to start the transition at the DOTr in coordination with the team of Secretary Jaime Bautista, who has resigned due to health reasons,” he added.

As BCDA chief under the Duterte administration, Dizon contributed to the success in the implementation of big-ticket projects under the government’s ambitious “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure program.
