Fantabulous Christmas Party Ideas

Published

on

It’s that special and merry time of the year when you get to have a wonderful excuse to celebrate amongst your peers, colleagues, friends, tribe, and families! It’s time to get cleaned up, get dressed to the nines in all your fineries and dazzle everyone around. It’s that time of the year to let your hair down, kick off your shoes, and have fun! And Christmas time is the perfect occasion to be the perfect host by giving your guests a most unforgettable holiday party!

Why not take your Christmas party to the next level by incorporating exciting ideas for indoor or even outdoor (weather permitting) games and make it a truly fun occasion? My Sisterhood Tribe and I would always have themed Christmas parties where we get the chance to be fashionably dressed, we would usually indulge in Secret Santa gift giving, there would be lots of singing and dancing. And of course, the food would be a delicious spread of potluck — everyone brings their own unique dishes!

Here are some fantabulous ideas on how to put  the fun and level up on your Christmas celebrations:

HAVE A THEMED PARTY! Ask your guests to dress up according to your themed party. It can be a glittery party where everyone can dress up in shiny, shimmering sequins and tassels! It can be a theme where you wear your worst Christmas ugly sweaters. Or you can have a theme where all couples wear twinning outfits. Ask your guests to come dressed as their favourite Christmas character. Or it can also be a masquerade party. It can even be a pyjama party! It can be a Red and Green Party. Or why not black and white party? The list is endless and whatever you end up choosing as a theme, a holiday costume party will surely be memorable!

GINGERBREAD HOUSE DECORATING PARTY. Provide all the ingredients and decorating kits, make it a truly creative evening by making sure your guests participate in a gingerbread house decorating contest. Divide your guests into teams and make it a light, enjoyable competition on who comes up with the most beautiful and most festive gingerbread house!

FANCY CHRISTMAS COCKTAILS PARTY. Gather your nearest and dearest and make it another creative and pleasurable party by hosting a Christmas cocktail party where guests get to whip up and concoct their own Christmas cocktail drinks. Give a prize for the one who can come up with the most decorative and of course yummylicious cocktail drink!

CHRISTMAS CAROLOKE PARTY. Channel your inner Filipino soul by making it a joyous Christmas Carol karaoke night! Have everyone participate in singing traditional Christmas carols. Show off your singing skills and who knows, one of you might even discover that you have a hidden talent good enough to join the next round of contestants for The Voice!

CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATION PARTY. There’s nothing more Christmassy than getting your friends and family together and diving into the spirit of Christmas by decorating your Christmas tree together! You can even ask your guests to bring an ornament that best describes them!

“PAMPER YOURSELF” SISTERHOOD AFTERNOON TEA CHRISTMAS PARTY. Why not make it an all-girls Sisterhood Party where you can all pamper yourselves? Book a salon where you can have a Sisterhood mani-pedi party, or have a private Afternoon Christmas tea party where you can have a masseuse to give you massages, hire someone who can give facials, mani-pedi or a hairstylist to give you and your girlfriends a hair makeover while you enjoy afternoon tea delights!

COOKIES EXCHANGE PARTY. Why not make it a cookie baking party and exchange recipes with each other? Think about that delicious aroma of freshly baked cookies wafting from your oven! Such a perfectly nice and sweet Christmas treat for everyone.

BOARD GAMES CHRISTMAS PARTY. It’s time to take out your board games from the storage, dust them off and have a board games theme party. You can have fun playing the Monopoly Christmas vacation board game. Then there’s a really fun game called Concept board game where up to 12 players can play! There’s also the  immersive Shakespeare board game where you’ll be totally transported to the Elizabethan era!

CHRISTMAS WREATH CRAFTING PARTY. Throw a wreath crafting party with your friends and family. Provide all the decor tools and let your guests showcase their artistic talents by letting them decorate their own Christmas wreaths and let them take it home as a present from you.

POTLUCK CHRISTMAS DINNER PARTY. Host a stress free Christmas party by having everyone come with their own Christmas dish to share. My Sisterhood Tribe and I are fond of doing this for our annual Christmas parties! Coordinate with each other so you’ll have a delicious and diverse menu to feast on!

MAKE IT A FONDUE CHRISTMAS GET TOGETHER. I can’t think of a cozier way than to have a warm festive fondue Christmas party! A delicious combination of savoury and sweet fondue will surely bring out the satisfied smiles of your guests!

INTERACTIVE COOKING CLASS PARTY. Organise a festive and interactive cooking class with your friends, colleagues or families. Select a Christmas menu that everyone can indulge in! Oh how fun it will be to learn new recipes and then enjoy your own culinary creations!

MIXOLOGY CLASS CHRISTMAS PARTY. Make it a truly happy hour Christmas party by organizing a mixology class for everyone to enjoy! Have fun learning how to mix cocktails as you learn shaking and pouring techniques from an expert. Serve hors d’oeuvres to go with your cocktails after the class for a sophisticated and elegant vibe!

WHITE ELEPHANT EXCHANGE PARTY. Nothing beats this tried and tested traditional Christmas gift exchange party. It’s guaranteed laughter all night long! Great and fun way to exchange gifts with each other!

WINTER SLEDS AND APRÈS-SKI SOIRÉE. If you are celebrating Christmas in a ski resort, why not make it a winter sled party and then indulge in aprés-ski favourites such as hot toddies? Take comfort in the warmth of your ski lodge surrounded by your nearest and dearest while enjoying a nice roaring fire!

CHRISTMAS SCAVENGER HUNT PARTY. Holding an adventurous scavenger hunt around your home, your office or even out in your neighbourhood is truly a unique way of celebrating the Yuletide season, injecting lots of humour in your scavenger hunt will surely be so much fun as well!

GIVE BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY PARTY. The true spirit of Christmas is all about giving. What better way to celebrate Christmas with your friends and family than to organise an event in your community by sponsoring a lunch for the homeless and the less fortunate. Assign tasks to your friends and families and or cook a huge pot of hot soup, and cook other large meals to hand out.

Whatever theme or ideas you choose to create for your party this year, just remember that Christmas is all about having a relaxing, fun, comfortable environment for everyone to enjoy. The true meaning of Christmas is to take time to pause, be grateful, to give love, hope and time to each other. From my family to yours, here’s wishing everyone a most blessed and happiest Christmas filled with peace, happiness, and love! I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all my readers for taking the time to read my innermost thoughts and sentiments. I am truly most grateful for having a platform to share my voice and feelings — an opportunity that I take seriously, responsibly and respectfully. After all, it’s not everyday that you’re given a chance to speak from your heart.
