MANILA – Air Canada will launch nonstop services between Vancouver and Manila beginning April 2, 2025.
The direct service will be four times weekly, using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
“The Philippines is an important market reflecting long-standing family ties between our two countries with growing business connections and tourism opportunities,” Mark Galardo, executive vice president for revenue and network planning, said in a statement.
With an extensive domestic and transborder network in Vancouver designed to connect seamlessly to Air Canada’s international flights, the airline is making travel between North America and the Philippines even more convenient for leisure and business travelers alike, he added.
The new route is Air Canada’s third Southeast Asia destination launched over the past two years.
Manila is Air Canada’s 12th destination in Asia Pacific and its first in the Philippines.
“Vancouver is thrilled to welcome Air Canada’s new flight to Manila. As the first Canadian airline to offer this route directly and year-round, it’s a meaningful milestone that strengthens the connection between Canada and the Philippines. For our city’s vibrant Filipino community, it brings loved ones closer, makes reunions easier, and opens the door to even more opportunities to connect and celebrate their heritage,” Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim was quoted in a news release.
At present, only flag carrier Philippine Airlines flies directly to Vancouver via the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
