MANILA — Despite the huge decline in the performance and trust ratings of President Aquino, Malacañang said Aquino’s ratings is still higher than past presidents’ ratings.

“Matingkad naman ang pagkakaiba hinggil sa pagiging mas mataas to a significant degree ng mga performance ratings ng pangulo. Ganito rin po sa trust ratings,” Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a press briefing.

The statement was made after the release of Pulse Asia’s March 2015 survey revealing a decrease in Aquino’s approval rating from 59 percent last November to 38 percent this March.

Aquino’s trust rating also plunged from 56 percent to 36 percent.

He was earlier criticized for the failed Mamasapano operation which killed 44 Philippine National Police Special Action Force commandos.

The palace, however said that the government is still determined to work harder to be able to earn people’s trust and confidence.
