Woman waiting for flight gives birth at Toronto’s Pearson Airport

TORONTO — A woman waiting for a flight at Toronto’s Pearson Airport Sunday night ended up getting a trip to the maternity ward instead.

Peel Paramedic Service says its paramedics were called to the airport where the woman gave birth.

Toronto T-V station CP24 says reports from the scene say the woman went into labour in an airport lounge while waiting for a flight to Edmonton.

The paramedic services say both the mother and newborn are doing well, but were taken to hospital to be checked over.

Officials don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl.
