MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday held a meeting with the government and non-government agencies to discuss the implementation of the PNP CCTV Project in Metro Manila.

The meeting, which was headed by Police Director Rodrigo P. De Garcia, aimed to exemplify the project, to share the best practices and technology and to see the possibility of maximizing the facilities of the government and non-government agencies to improve the project.

De Garcia said the project aimed at helping the police to perform immediate action based in the recordings and live feed of these CCTVs, which can also be used in investigation and prosecution and criminal cases.

“Said CCTVs will have a direct link to the nearest police stations through the use of Internet Protocol radio where police officers could easily track, monitor, or capture all the incidents in the crime prone areas for the immediate police action,” said in the report from the meeting through the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management.

The project was a continuation of the four CCTVs that were installed last Jan.
