MANILA — The Senate still remains mum on whether they will present survivors of the Mamasampano encounter during the second day of the investigation.

The probe conducted to find out the truth behind the operation will resume today, Tuesday.

Senator Grace Poe, who is taking the lead in the investigation said that the senate is still looking for ways to get the survivors to testify safely.

“We will see how can we get the testimonies of the survivors without compromising their safety,” she said.

Poe, however, said that they were not presented during the hearing due to health concerns.

Poe also added that they are now currently investigating the involvement of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in the encounter.

“We will also hopefully get to focus also on the MILF, their involvement, and what they are willing to do to prove their sincerity in the peace process,” she added.
