Heart attack claims life of Davao del Norte mayor
DAVAO CITY , Philippines – Panabo City, Davao del Norte Mayor Jose Silvosa Sr. succumbed to a heart attack on Monday afternoon.
He was 74-years-old.
As detailed by City Administrator Ramon Sawan, Silvosa complained of difficulty in breathing, and was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao on Monday morning.
Medical efforts were to no avail, however, and the mayor died at approximately 3:30 p.m. the same day.
“A mass will be held at the city hall on Sunday before the mayor will be taken to their house,” Sawan said.
His remains will lie in state at Panabo’s new city hall on Friday, while he will be interred at the Panabo Eternal Garden.
Meanwhile, Vice Mayor James Gamao has assumed the mayoralty.
