15 new Covid-19 recoveries recorded among Pinoys abroad: DFA

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday said 15 more Filipinos recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising the total number to 5,613.

The confirmed cases are currently pegged at 8,627 after four more infections were reported in the Asia Pacific, four in Europe, three in the Middle East/Africa, and two in the Americas.

The latest data from the DFA also showed that the death toll stands at 561 with no new fatalities reported for July 3.

“The DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts continue to actively monitor the status of the Filipino community abroad and work to safely repatriate more of our stranded nationals home,” it said in a statement.

The total active cases among Filipinos abroad are 2,904. To date, the Middle East remains as the region with the most number of confirmed cases at 6,256, recoveries at 3,809, and fatalities at 269.
