MANILA — His Holiness Pope Francis is now en route to Malacanang Palace for his official welcoming ceremony and courtesy visit to President Benigno Simeon Aquino III.

He is scheduled to arrive at 9:15 AM, but making it through the throngs of faithfuls awaiting the Pope is proving to be challenging for the papal convoy.

The Pope is riding a black Volks Wagen vehicle with the window rolled open to wave to the thousands of Filipinos waiting for him.
