10,000 applicants worldwide vie for job as human paintball bullet tester

UKPaintball, a British company with over 60 paintball venues scattered across the United Kingdom, said that 10,000 people from throughout the world have applied for a job as a “human bullet impact tester.”

The company recently posted an advertisement calling on individuals willing to subject themselves to being shot at with paintball bullets, in order to test the impact of these.

To the surprise of company officials, the ad received responses from applicants based not only in Britain, but in countries as far away as the United States, Canada and India.

The post comes with a salary of £40,000 (,000, or 50,000 euros) a year.

“This incredible response is the last thing we expected when we posted the advert,” UKPaintball owner Justin Toohig said.

“We couldn’t have predicted that so many people in the UK and beyond would want to get shot for a living. It’s going to be a real struggle attempting to whittle down the thousands of applicants to just one” he added

Toohig recounted that the applicants come from diverse backgrounds, and have emphasized a variety of skills in the hope of snagging the job.

“We’ve had individuals hoping to secure the job including an ex-army soldier boasting previous experience of guns and weaponry… and an ex-magician’s assistant who was once almost shot for real in an illusion that went horribly wrong,” Toohig said.
