NGCP completes power restoration in Visayas and Mindanao
MANILA — After six days since tropical storm “Seniang” hit the southern part of the country, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said it has completed power restoration works in the Visayas and Mindanao.
“All transmission and sub-transmission lines and substations of NGCP in the Visayas and Mindanao affected by tropical storm ‘Seniang’ are in normal condition,” NGCP said in a statement on Saturday.
It said NGCP’s operations have fully normalized after re-energizing the Agusan del Sur Electric Cooperatives Inc.
(ASELCO) through the restoration of the 69-kilovolt Butuan-Bayugan line.
On Thursday, the NGCP restored power to a huge portion of Surigao del Norte, specifically the areas of Tubod, Mainit, San Francisco, Malimono, Sison, Placer, Claver, Bacuag, Gigaquit, Cantilan, Carrascal, Madrid and the whole Siargao Island.
Meanwhile, for the Visayas region, the NGCP finished connecting power lines to the grid as early as Wednesday.
NGCP is a Sy-led corporation engaged in operating, maintaining, and developing the country’s power grid.
