Jejomar still ‘most wanted’ in surveys

MANILA – Despite the controversies faced by Vice President Jejomar Binay, he is still the top choice for president next year, according to the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

With 37 percent votes of the 1,800 respondents included in the nationwide polls, Binay is still leading the list of potential candidates for president in the upcoming 2016 elections.

Following Binay is Senator Grace Poe who garnered 21 percent of the votes, while Interior Secretary Mar Roxas landed third with 19 percent.

The top three candidates were followed by Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago with 10 percent and Sen. Francis Escudero along with now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada with nine percent each.

The list is then followed by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV obtained five percent each, and Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano each with three percent.

Former senator Manuel Villar Jr., Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. and Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery Panfilo Lacson is also on the list with two percent each.

Sen. Loren Legarda, Senate President Franklin Drilon, Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization Francis Pangilinan and Sarangani Rep.

Manny Pacquiao also got one percent each.

For national percentage, the survey had a sampling error margin of plus or minus two percentage points and plus or minus six percentage points for Metro Manila, balance of Luzon and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the non-commissioned survey which were published in the BusinessWorld yesterday, has a total of three percentage points for the Visayas.
