PH Army marksmen in Hanoi for Asean shooting meet

MANILA – At least 42 members of the Philippine Army Shooting Contingent (PASCON) have arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam to take part in the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Armies Rifle Meet (AARM).
The shooting event will take place from Nov. 3 to 12, according to PA spokesperson Col. Xerxes Trinidad in a statement Friday.
The PASCON is led by Col. William Victorino F. Upano.
“The annual event is established to foster professional goodwill, cooperation, and friendly competition between neighboring Asian countries,” Trinidad said.
This year’s AARM is hosted by the People’s Army of Vietnam. Five officials from Headquarters Philippine Army will be observing the AARM from the sidelines.
Trinidad said PA chief, Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., has sent his well wishes to the PASCON and reminded them to demonstrate values of integrity, professionalism, and sportsmanship with their Asean Army counterparts.
